Blossoming Light
Blossoming Light is an outdoor lighting installation shaped like a giant flower. The structure is 7 meters high and 4 meters in diameter. Square stainless steel tubes form 88 triangular sections joined by more than 440 welded joints. The surface carries nearly 60,000 LED light points, allowing video to be shown across a full 360 degree view. Computer timing and a light sensor adjust the lights to natural and environmental conditions. The colors change slowly to suggest the passing of the four seasons. Six groups of metal flower decorations hold artificial flower arrangements.
Blossoming Light Installation Art by CHIH LIANG LIU has been selected as an outstanding representation of industrial design by the A' Design Award & Competition.
