Greenwich
Greenwich is a residential interior design for a small apartment in Taiwan. A mezzanine increases the usable area within the limited footprint. Glass and iron elements bring sunlight into every corner. Slender steel handrails and a staircase walkway divide the areas while keeping visual openness. The design recalls the iron staircases of Manhattan, where the owner once lived. The main materials are particle board, mineral water-based paint and stone plastic composite flooring, selected for low formaldehyde and low volatility.
Greenwich Residential by CHEN SHENG-YUAN has been recognized as a grand example of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Greenwich Residential won the Iron A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2022. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design prize which recognizes excellent design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
