Liyue
Liyue is an armchair that combines Chinese furniture traditions with a Bauhaus-inspired form. The design is drawn from ancient Chinese ritual and music culture and reflects its sense of order and rhythm. The structure of traditional wooden seats is retained, while modern materials allow the chair to fit into contemporary interiors. Recyclable polypropylene and polyamide parts are shaped by computer-controlled machining. The firm curved backrest supports the body and suits people of different sizes. The chair measures 550 by 450 by 750 mm.
Liyue New Furniture by Haonan Zhang was identified as an outstanding example of industrial design by the A' Design Award. Liyue New Furniture was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in Furniture Design in 2023. The A' Furniture Design Award is an international, meritocratic, just and fair design accolade which rewards outstanding design of chairs, tables, sofas, beds, cabinets, shelves, desks, wardrobes and more.
