Guide of the Light
This single story residence was renovated with a rational distribution of public and private spaces, in order to meet the needs of the client. A key concept was the installation of a row of double-sided cabinets, which discreetly divided the corridor-shaped entryway from the combined dining and kitchen area. This allowed for a space with plenty of turns, and ample storage for the public area.
Guide of the Light Residence by Wang Wei has been identified as a grand example of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Guide of the Light Residence received the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2023. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design prize which rewards excellent design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
