Gradual Change of the Circle
Gradual Change of the Circle is a sculpture inspired by the evolution of life on earth. The work is mainly made of stainless steel, and titanium plating gives golden and silver tones with a technological look. The rounded form recalls a mother's face and also suggests seeds, buds and shells. Lines along the outer arc resemble waves on a beach. The inner concave surface reflects the view of the sky. The form was first shaped by computer, then completed by hand. Pre-production models were 3D printed with recyclable materials to reduce waste.
Gradual Change of the Circle Sculpture by Ying Hsi Liao has been highlighted as an exceptional representation of communication design by the A' Design Award.
