Villa Madonna
Villa Madonna is an extension of a hotel in Alpe di Siusi, Italy, completed in 2021. The form of the extension follows the lines of the surrounding landscape, and the main facade is aligned toward the summit of the Sciliar mountain range to frame the view of the peak. Stone, glass and wood are used, all sourced from supply chains with low carbon dioxide output, for durability and high energy performance. The extension holds a reception, a refreshment area and reading and conversation rooms. Daylight enters through openings that preserve the material continuity of the perimeter.
Villa Madonna Hotel Extension by JOSEPH DI PASQUALE ARCHITECTS was selected as a grand example of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Villa Madonna Hotel Extension won the Golden A' Design Award in Architecture, Building and Structure Design in 2023. The A' Architecture, Building and Structure Design Award is a highly prestigious international design accolade that recognizes superior design of skyscrapers, museums, residential buildings, commercial complexes, educational institutions, religious structures, infrastructure designs, landscaping projects and more.
