The Flow
The Flow is a public space interior design for the shared areas of a residential building in Taipei City, Taiwan. The design theme is water, used as a metaphor for time and movement. A wood grill ceiling with curved wavy forms runs from the main entrance to the reception desk and continues through the lounge, the mailroom and the underground parking area. Corrugated stainless steel panels on the elevator hall walls suggest ripples. Reflective walls and white marble effect ceramic tiles widen the space visually. Wood and stainless steel were selected because both materials are recyclable.
The Flow Public Space by Peng-Hsu Chen was selected as an exceptional illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. The Flow Public Space was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2023. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design accolade which rewards exceptional design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
