Meat Festival
Meat Festival is the interior design of a Japanese yakiniku family restaurant in Taipei. The 224 square meter space is inspired by traditional Japanese festivals. Fireworks, goldfish fishing, street vendor stalls and children's games are reinterpreted as design elements. Large flags, light boxes, arch structures and the color red create a festive mood. Seating is arranged in the manner of small stalls, and translucent patterned glass divides the upper part of each area. Mesh screens and reflective materials keep the space lively while protecting the privacy of diners.
Meat Festival Restaurant by Chang Ming Hu has been featured as an innovative representation of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. Meat Festival Restaurant earned the Silver A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2023. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is a highly prestigious international design recognition program which celebrates superior design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
