Midnight Tide
Midnight Tide is a necklace made of 18ct white gold with inlaid diamonds. The neckpiece consists of 79 individually modeled units, each cast to serve a specific function and shaped in reference to human bones. The units interconnect through an original linkage mechanism inspired by body ligaments, which creates controlled tension and fluid movement. Each unit was prototyped, assembled and recast with precise adjustment, and the joints were fine-tuned by hand. The resulting form recalls the movement of ocean tides across the shoulder.
Midnight Tide Necklace by Elinn Fang has been recognized as an outstanding representation of fashion design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Midnight Tide Necklace received the Silver A' Design Award in Jewelry Design in 2023. The A' Jewelry Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design recognition program that celebrates excellent design of rings, necklaces, bracelets, earrings, brooches, pendants, cufflinks, anklets and more.
