Reflection
Reflection is a pair of asymmetric earrings made from repurposed 18ct white gold. The gold is drawn into wire to form the body of the main earring. The larger left earring hooks around the ear, while the right earring is a small stud. A separate drop section can be attached to either earring or slid onto a chain and worn as a pendant. Sapphires and diamonds are grain set and bezel set by hand. The design is inspired by a bird viewing its own reflection in water, and by the contrast between the side that is shown and the side that is kept hidden.
Reflection Earrings by mandy morris has been featured as an exceptional representation of fashion design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Reflection Earrings was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in Jewelry Design in 2023. The A' Jewelry Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design prize that rewards superior design of rings, necklaces, bracelets, earrings, brooches, pendants, cufflinks, anklets and more.
