Stylia Hair
Stylia Hair is a hair salon interior of 188 square meters located in Guangzhou. A central line divides the curved space into an office area and a display area, one in pink and the other in blue. A complete arc surrounds the central VIP room, where frosted glass partitions allow private conversation without a sense of separation. A continuous light source forms the ceiling. The main materials are floor glue, latex paint, glass and acrylic. The simple approach and the balance of light and shadow create a calm and lively setting.
Stylia Hair Store by Xiaobing Yao has been featured as an outstanding example of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Stylia Hair Store was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2023. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, meritocratic, just and fair design prize which celebrates excellent design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
