Wanwea Yun
Wanwea Yun is a restaurant interior in Chengdu, China, covering 1800 square meters. The design combines Peking duck cuisine with traditional Sichuan food. Each private room has a sofa lounge, a tea tasting area and a dining area, so guests can sit, drink tea and eat in turn. Translucent fish-shaped decorations are grouped across the high ceiling to suggest a flow into the sea. At the entrance, more than 100 types of food seeds are set in resin squares and arranged on the wall by region. Wood, baking paint, electroplated metal and Suriname black marble are the main materials.
Wanwea Yun Restaurant by Jiang Min was highlighted as an outstanding representation of architectural design by the A' Design Award. Wanwea Yun Restaurant earned the Silver A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2023. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design accolade that rewards excellent design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
