Rotating Table
Rotating Table is a meal delivery robot designed for restaurants. Many service robots use fixed multi-layer trays, so staff must bend over or squat down to place and collect plates. Rotating Table uses rotatable plates and has two working states, one for transport and one for serving on arrival. Two sets of pulleys turn the upper and lower plates together while the middle plate stays stable, so the food remains level. A touch screen controls delivery, flipping, music, recording and information. Ambient lights and a silver finish complete the design.
Rotating Table Service Robot by Qian Hongliang has been recognized as a creative example of service design by the A' Design Award. Rotating Table Service Robot won the Silver A' Design Award in Robotics, Automaton and Automation Design in 2023. The A' Robotics, Automaton and Automation Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design prize that celebrates superior design of industrial robots, medical robots, agricultural robots, domestic robots, autonomous vehicles, humanoid robots, telepresence robots, underwater robots and more.
