Daqu Wine Packaging Design

Daqu

Daqu is a packaging design created for a wine bottle. The packaging is made of corn stalk pulp, an environmentally friendly material that dissolves quickly. Pulp molding forms a single layer structure with raised contour lines that suggest mountains. The contour shape refers to the natural brewing environment of Luzhou, where three rivers meet. The white pulp surface and the simple visual style give the product a clear and distinct identity. The main challenge was the accurate design of the mold pattern, so that the shaped pulp could be released cleanly.

Daqu Wine Packaging Design by yuejun chen has been highlighted as a grand illustration of communication design by the A' Design Awards. Daqu Wine Packaging Design received the Bronze A' Design Award in Packaging Design in 2024. The A' Packaging Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design prize that honors exceptional design of bottles, boxes, cans, pouches, tubes, cartons, wrappers, bags and more.
