Rong
Rong is a tea sideboard designed for home use. Rong is made of North American black walnut with a clear wood grain. A double-layer octagonal countertop and herringbone struts divide the functional areas by shape. The cabinet body has grille strip sliding doors that move along a track, so no space is needed in front of the unit. Multiple storage areas keep different tea sets in order. The concave countertop surface and the pressure center placed behind the center of gravity prevent tipping. Simple components allow users to assemble the sideboard themselves.
Rong Tea Edge Cabinet by Jun Zhang was featured as an outstanding representation of industrial design by the A' Design Award. Rong Tea Edge Cabinet earned the Silver A' Design Award in Furniture Design in 2024. The A' Furniture Design Award is a highly prestigious international design prize which recognizes excellent design of chairs, tables, sofas, beds, cabinets, shelves, desks, wardrobes and more.
