Royan
Royan is a double-sided sofa designed for hotel lobbies, waiting rooms, libraries and other luxury spaces. The curved form is inspired by the letters of Nasta'liq calligraphy, a script used in Iran and in many Islamic countries. Seating is offered on both sides, and the shaped armrests allow users to lean in several ways. Built-in spaces hold books and plants, and wireless chargers are included. The wooden frame is shaped by CNC machining and is covered with polyurethane foam and a layer of leather or fabric. Metal edges protect the bases.
Royan Sofa by Esmail Ghadrdani was featured as an outstanding example of industrial design by the A' Design Award. Royan Sofa was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in Furniture Design in 2024. The A' Furniture Design Award is an international, meritocratic, just and fair design prize that honors exceptional design of chairs, tables, sofas, beds, cabinets, shelves, desks, wardrobes and more.
