Time Capsule
Time Capsule is a package designed for a community library in Nishi-Tokyo City. Time Capsule is loaned to library users on an annual basis. Personal treasures and family mementos are kept inside, and a date and time for opening are set by the user. The package looks like a book, so it can be displayed on the high shelves that users cannot reach and where books cannot be placed safely during earthquakes. Five colors bring movement to the space while keeping a calm atmosphere. Colors that resist fading and paper that resists warping suit long display.
Time Capsule Package by Koichi Namimoto has been featured as an innovative representation of communication design by the A' Design Awards. Time Capsule Package won the Bronze A' Design Award in Packaging Design in 2024. The A' Packaging Design Award is a highly prestigious international design competition which recognizes excellent design of bottles, boxes, cans, pouches, tubes, cartons, wrappers, bags and more.
