Inkwell
Inkwell is a residential interior design for an apartment of approximately 82.6 square meters in Taiwan. Slab tiles with stone texture recall ink-play painting, and the same texture continues across the television wall, cabinets, floor and kitchen island. Matte suede paint and glossy black glass add depth and keep the dark tones from feeling heavy. Wood grain warms the private rooms. One guest room was converted into an open study with display cabinets to improve openness and daylight. Curved surfaces blend the ceiling into the walls and soften the large structural volumes.
Inkwell Residence by Lilin Design has been featured as an innovative illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Inkwell Residence received the Iron A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2024. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design recognition program that rewards outstanding design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
