Jing Hong
Jing Hong is a large art installation created for an art gallery in Beijing, China. The red form reaches 6 meters in height and extends about 100 meters in total length. The streamer shape flows from the outdoor stairs into the gallery and continues to a dining space below. A welded iron frame serves as the internal keel, and matte stretch fabric forms the ribbon surface. Curved landing points carry the load, so no columns or hanging points are used. A wind device sets part of the fabric in motion. Visitors can walk along the installation and feel surrounded by the streamer.
Jing Hong Art Installations by Wei Zhang was selected as a grand illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. Jing Hong Art Installations won the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2024. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design competition which honors excellent design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
