Lighting The Way
Lighting The Way is a residential interior design for a long and narrow apartment of 99 square meters in Taichung City. The layout uses penetration techniques and a divided screen instead of a solid partition, so light and views pass through the space. Titanium-plated steel and natural stone reflect ambient and accent lighting, creating depth and contrast. The television wall was repositioned to allow a larger seating area and an island dining arrangement. Shared walkways link the entrance, living room and bedroom.
Lighting The Way Interior Design by Chen Chia Yu has been highlighted as an exceptional example of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Lighting The Way Interior Design was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2025. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design award that recognizes outstanding design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
