Unpolished Light
Unpolished Light is the interior design of a 109-square-meter apartment for a family of four. The kitchen partition was removed, the entryway shortened and the master bedroom recessed to enlarge the social area. Cabinets on both sides of the entryway replace the lost storage. A corridor set at 45 degrees serves the two daughters' rooms and reduces wasted space. Sloped ceilings and a long ceiling outlet that conceals the air conditioning answer the low beam height. Marble, large-format tiles and engineered hardwood flooring are combined with light and dark neutral tones.
Unpolished Light Residence by CHIA-CHI YEH has been identified as a grand representation of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. Unpolished Light Residence earned the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2025. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, meritocratic, just and fair design recognition program which rewards excellent design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
