The Legacy of the Art Tree Wall-Hanging Artwork

The Legacy of the Art Tree

The Legacy of the Art Tree is a wall-hanging artwork inspired by the old trees that stand beside historic buildings in Taiwan. The crown is formed with pave setting techniques and uses white and green rhinestones in thirty different sizes, arranged across 201 leaves in four sizes. The trunk is finished with 24K gold leaf applied by traditional Japanese methods. The frame is made of Taiwanese cypress with hidden joinery. Other materials include resin, stainless steel and anodized titanium. The piece measures 150 cm in length and 110 cm in height, and reflects natural daylight.

The Legacy of the Art Tree Wall-Hanging Artwork by Hsin Lee was featured as an outstanding example of communication design by the A' Design Award & Competition. The Legacy of the Art Tree Wall-Hanging Artwork earned the Golden A' Design Award in Fine Arts and Art Installation Design in 2025. The A' Fine Arts and Art Installation Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design prize which celebrates excellent design of sculptures, paintings, installations, photographs, drawings, mixed media works, ceramics, art objects, craftworks and more.
