Player
Player is a video platform interface for audience participation in extended reality. Videos uploaded to Player include motion and sound tracking, and recorded movements are converted into 3D motion data. Users can follow the actions of a video accurately, then record, edit and share their own version. A generative AI tool lets users create avatars and backgrounds, so participation is possible without showing the face or body. The interface is designed for head-mounted extended reality devices and suits activities such as dance and building tasks.
Player Video XR by Suryun Hyeon has been identified as a creative representation of communication design by the A' Design Awards. Player Video XR was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in Interface, Interaction and User Experience Design in 2025. The A' Interface, Interaction and User Experience Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design competition which celebrates superior design of websites, mobile applications, software interfaces, game interfaces, wearable interfaces, virtual reality interfaces, augmented reality interfaces, dashboard designs and more.
