Harmony
Harmony is a cultural learning space created inside a historic tea factory at National Kuan Hsi Senior High School in Hsinchu, Taiwan. The school was founded in 1924 with an agricultural focus. The renovated area covers 352 square meters. Flexible and modular planning, interdisciplinary collaboration zones, and immersive digital media support situational teaching. Old tea processing equipment and the preserved tea throwing opening are transformed into artistic installations. Reusing old equipment and furniture reduces waste and joins historical texture with modern design.
Harmony Cultural Learning Space by Daisuke Nagatomo and Minnie Jan was featured as an outstanding illustration of communication design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Harmony Cultural Learning Space was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in Cultural Heritage and Culture Industry Design in 2025. The A' Cultural Heritage and Culture Industry Design Award is a highly prestigious international design accolade which celebrates excellent design of cultural heritage projects, cultural conversation, preservation, restoration and protection projects, heritage architecture and more.
