Oyoga
Oyoga is a modular seat designed for group use in shared rest areas. Unlike fixed chairs, Oyoga uses a rotating joint structure, so the layout can change from a three person seat to a six person seat according to the number of users. Each seat is a yoga ball, which adds softness and allows light exercise while sitting. A ball can also be flipped up to act as a backrest for the seat beside it. Elastic materials provide comfort, and metal connectors keep the parts stable and simple to replace. Pomegranate seeds inspired the form as a symbol of unity.
Oyoga Chair by Zhejun Zhang was highlighted as an exceptional representation of communication design by the A' Design Awards. The A' Fine Arts and Art Installation Design Award is a highly prestigious international design award that celebrates outstanding design of sculptures, paintings, installations, photographs, drawings, mixed media works, ceramics, art objects, craftworks and more.
