Modern and Timeless
Modern and Timeless is the interior design of a family villa in Istanbul. The residence has a net indoor area of 475 square meters and is arranged over three levels, with five bedrooms and one living room. The living room has a high ceiling and a gallery void, with a marble fireplace that rises to the full height of the void. Italian ceramics were used in the kitchen and wet areas, and light wooden parquet in the rooms and corridors. All furniture was newly produced for the project. The aim was a simple, comfortable and lasting atmosphere for each family member.
Modern and Timeless Residence by Sakura Architecture has been featured as an innovative illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. Modern and Timeless Residence was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2025. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design award that recognizes outstanding design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
