Forma
Forma is a chair shaped from vegetable tanned leather, MDF and steel. The form reinterprets the silhouette of a horse saddle. The leather is shaped by wet molding, one of the oldest leatherworking techniques, which creates structured and durable forms. Wet molding allows smooth transitions between soft and rigid areas, so the chair provides both comfort and support. Forma measures 560 mm in width, 605 mm in depth and 670 mm in height. The design adapts a traditional saddlery craft to contemporary furniture.
Forma Chair by Jaewoo Choi was selected as an exceptional illustration of industrial design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Forma Chair earned the Iron A' Design Award in Furniture Design in 2025. The A' Furniture Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design recognition program which recognizes exceptional design of chairs, tables, sofas, beds, cabinets, shelves, desks, wardrobes and more.
