Beyond Number

Beyond Number is a web based interactive platform for social data storytelling. The platform turns statistics on social justice topics into visual narratives. Visitors explore curated datasets, interact with dynamic visualizations, and select the statistics they find most relevant. These choices are then transformed into a personalized digital poster that can be saved or shared. Built with HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript, the platform is responsive on desktop and mobile screens. The aim is to make abstract data tangible and to show the human impact behind numbers.

Beyond Number Social Awareness Web Platform by Lei Ye has been highlighted as a creative example of communication design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Beyond Number Social Awareness Web Platform earned the Iron A' Design Award in Public Awareness, Volunteerism, and Society Design in 2025. The A' Public Awareness, Volunteerism, and Society Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design accolade which celebrates excellent design of fundraisers, advocacy campaigns, disaster relief efforts, community cleanups, educational programs, health screenings, food drives, conservation projects and more.
