Moon Trace
Moon Trace is a light and shadow art installation. The form recalls the moon and integrates dragon motifs. The design links the Eastern full moon, a symbol of reunion, with the Western crescent moon, a symbol of hope. Moon Trace is made mainly of recycled steel and is divided into four modular parts for efficient assembly and disassembly. Built-in LED strips, projected light and intermittent smoke interact with polished surfaces. An automatic sensing spray system responds to the position of viewers, creating changing scenes.
Moon Trace Art Installation by He Xiayun was featured as an outstanding illustration of communication design by the A' Design Awards. Moon Trace Art Installation won the Silver A' Design Award in Fine Arts and Art Installation Design in 2025. The A' Fine Arts and Art Installation Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design prize that celebrates exceptional design of sculptures, paintings, installations, photographs, drawings, mixed media works, ceramics, art objects, craftworks and more.
