Octagon
The octagon, a geometric figure selected by Nikola Tesla for his tower served as the motivation for creating a distinctive pavilion complex. By rebuilding the tower using energy efficient technologies, with a lookout as the focal point of this architectural ensemble featuring eight pavilions within the octagonal extension of the tower, this facility would serve as a future landmark for any global expo complex. The glazed atrium, is supported by columns shaped to represent lightning. Once the Expo event concludes, this complex could evolve into a mixed-use center, guaranteeing its viability.
Octagon Expo Pavilion by Dr Aleksandar Rudnik Milanovic has been selected as an innovative representation of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Octagon Expo Pavilion received the Bronze A' Design Award in Architecture, Building and Structure Design in 2025. The A' Architecture, Building and Structure Design Award is a highly prestigious, international, juried design recognition program that recognizes superior design of skyscrapers, museums, residential buildings, commercial complexes, educational institutions, religious structures, infrastructure designs, landscaping projects and more.
