Landform Pulsation
The research building integrates new and existing volumes, aiming to create a highly experimental environment. The design draws from the diverse pulsations of natural landforms, symbolizing the Earth's rhythmic breath. The design multiplies and extends spatial layers. It creates an open and infinitely extendable order. The visual narrative unfolds from the Earth's core to the galactic scale, expressed through seismic wave imagery, highlighting the coevolution and harmonious development of earthquake engineering and the land.
Landform Pulsation Research Interior by Chiao-Yi Tang was selected as an innovative illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Award. Landform Pulsation Research Interior was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2026. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, meritocratic, just and fair design competition that honors superior design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
