Silhouette
Silhouette is a convertible chair that shifts between an armchair, lounge chair, and chaise lounge through the reconfiguration of its primary elements. Instead of relying on exposed mechanisms or concealed hardware beneath upholstery, it transforms by reassigning the roles of the same visible components that define the chair in each position. With its sleek, sculptural form and clear structural expression, Silhouette offers a contemporary alternative to conventional convertible seating.
Silhouette Convertible Chair by Jonah Rappaport was selected as an innovative example of industrial design by the A' Design Awards. Silhouette Convertible Chair earned the Silver A' Design Award in Furniture Design in 2026. The A' Furniture Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design competition which celebrates superior design of chairs, tables, sofas, beds, cabinets, shelves, desks, wardrobes and more.
