Fusion House
Fusion House is a private residence in Japan designed for a multi generational family. The house stands on an inherited site shared with a Japanese garden, an existing kura and the parents house. A pine tree at the center of the garden guided the placement of the new building. A mixed structure of reinforced concrete and traditional timber construction provides stability and openness. Within the double-height living space, a feature wall of Japanese plaster and hand-crafted washi sliding doors shapes the interior. Daily living areas and guest areas remain separate yet connected.
Fusion House Residential by Ryoko Ogoshi has been selected as a creative illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. Fusion House Residential earned the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2026. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design award that recognizes excellent design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
