Aero
Aero Bookcase is a freestanding bookcase inspired by the airplanes of the 1920s. The legs and the main structure follow curved lines that recall early aviation and the organic style of that period. The frame is made of solid Tzalam wood, and the shelves combine laminated natural oak with colored laminated glass. The inverted curved wooden shelves keep books close to one another. The glass shelves hold books or ornaments, and the tinted glass reflects colored light into the room. The surfaces are finished with six layers of polyurethane.
Aero Bookcase by Gerardo Ríos Altamirano has been featured as an exceptional illustration of industrial design by the A' Design Award. Aero Bookcase was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in Furniture Design in 2017. The A' Furniture Design Award is a highly prestigious, international, juried design award which celebrates exceptional design of chairs, tables, sofas, beds, cabinets, shelves, desks, wardrobes and more.
