Glass House
Glass House is a small residential interior design in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. The house is built entirely with reflective laminated glass, which blocks ultraviolet rays and provides thermal insulation of about seventy one percent. The total built area is sixty square meters. The structure is screwed and modular, based on the sizes of the glass panels and the steel profiles, so waste is avoided and the house can be moved or modified. Certified wood, stone and textured surfaces are used inside to bring warmth to the glass shell.
Glass House Residential by Cristina Menezes was identified as a grand representation of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Glass House Residential won the Silver A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2018. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design accolade which recognizes exceptional design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
