Nomadless
Nomadless is a residential interior design for a 320 square foot public housing apartment in Hong Kong. The compact interior supports many activities within one open space. Tailor made furniture is transformable, so the same area can serve as a theater, a tea house, a small library or a working studio. A full height shelf with a platform offers a resting place for films and books, and a lifting table is used for tea. Three hidden tables slide out to seat fifteen guests. Teak wood, concrete and glass invite natural light and stillness.
Nomadless Residential House by Chhavi Hoiman has been selected as an outstanding example of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. Nomadless Residential House received the Iron A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2021. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design award which rewards excellent design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
