Strolling
Strolling is a residential interior design for a suburban house in Taipei. The layout is divided into three equal parts of 115 square meters each: a garden, a public ground floor and a private bedroom level above. The staircase marks the boundary between the public and private areas. The lower section of the staircase is made of marble to suggest rock and solidity, while the upper section is made of 9 millimeter U-shaped steel plates suspended from the ceiling. Scale, form, material and shadow are used to create a quiet and comfortable space close to nature.
Strolling House by MingChun,Hsu has been selected as an innovative illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Award. Strolling House received the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2020. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, meritocratic, just and fair design prize that rewards excellent design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
