Akimbo Coffee Beer
Akimbo Coffee Beer is a packaging design for two craft coffee beers created through a partnership between a coffee brand and a brewery. The beers are sold in aluminum cans, and the outer box measures 115 millimeters in length, 66 millimeters in width and 66 millimeters in height. A hand-painted illustration and a retro hand-drawn font give the cans a relaxed and refreshing character. The illustration shows the mascots of both brands surfing at the seaside. The design addresses young consumers and states clearly that the drink is alcoholic.
Akimbo Coffee Beer Beverage by Wen Liu has been recognized as an exceptional illustration of communication design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Akimbo Coffee Beer Beverage was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in Packaging Design in 2020. The A' Packaging Design Award is a highly prestigious international design prize which honors exceptional design of bottles, boxes, cans, pouches, tubes, cartons, wrappers, bags and more.
