Poly Longmen Plaza
Deconstruction of Door is an exhibition and sales center for a real estate developer, located in Foshan, China. The design is based on the Chinese character for door, which marks an entrance and a change of scene. The strokes of the character are separated and rebuilt into a new structure. Beech wood parts are joined by mortise and tenon and held by extra fixing devices. Linear lights are inlaid into the columns. Wood, glass and light shape the ceiling, the podium, the walls and a display table. The two floors cover 5801 square feet and also serve as a shop for cultural products.
