Homa
Homa is a dual purpose ring that can also be worn as a necklace. The piece is made of 18K gold and set with synthetic blue ruby. The inner ring is elastic, so the ring can be adjusted to the size of the wearer's finger. A rail mechanism, based on train wheels, allows the ring to be changed into a necklace. A simple lock beneath the piece holds the form in place when the ring is worn on the finger. The design gives the wearer the choice of function and a direct interaction with the object. The name Homa refers to the bird of bliss in Persian literature.
Homa Dual Purpose Ring by Mehdi Moazzen was highlighted as an exceptional illustration of fashion design by the A' Design Awards. Homa Dual Purpose Ring received the Silver A' Design Award in Jewelry Design in 2020. The A' Jewelry Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design recognition program that celebrates exceptional design of rings, necklaces, bracelets, earrings, brooches, pendants, cufflinks, anklets and more.
