La Goccia
La Goccia is an interior design for a restaurant and bar set on two floors. The first floor is dedicated to Italian food, while the second floor holds the bar. The two-story slab was excavated to form a patio, and the wine rack behind the bar was extended upward to create a seven-meter-high wine tower. A large opening on the facade makes the wine tower visible from the street. Mirror stainless steel widens the limited height of the second floor, and brass surfaces are obtained by plating copper on stainless steel. Light sources are hidden to avoid glare.
La Goccia Restaurant and Bar by Hong Wang has been highlighted as an innovative illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. La Goccia Restaurant and Bar earned the Golden A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2020. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design recognition program which rewards superior design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
