Floating Light
Floating Light is a residential interior design located in a four-story building in Taichung City, Taiwan. The residence was completed in June 2019. An atrium brings natural light into the vertical space and guides circulation between the levels. Walls finished with mineral paint show changing patterns of light and shadow through the day. Natural masonry, marble, timber veneer and painted metalwork form a simple and repetitive texture. The layout creates a shared domain where the family can gather and interact.
Floating Light Residence by ACG Design International was identified as an exceptional example of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Floating Light Residence was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2020. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design prize which rewards outstanding design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
