Cava
Through combining mathematical formulas, cave mineral structural formation angles, mineral composition data, a series of vector images were generated through computational design. Yingri Guan visualizes cave patterns through generative designs. She transforms these data into three-dimensional installations.
Cava Light Installation by YINGRI GUAN has been featured as a creative illustration of strategy design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Cava Light Installation was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in Generative, Algorithmic, Parametric and AI-Assisted Design in 2020. The A' Generative, Algorithmic, Parametric and AI-Assisted Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design prize which rewards outstanding design of algorithmic artworks, parametric architectures, generative graphics, AI-Assisted illustrations, computational sculptures, procedural patterns, evolutionary installations, interactive experiences and more.
