Hermit Huts
Hermit Huts is a short-term rental resort hotel set in the mountains of Chongqing. The ten rooms cover a total area of 470 square meters. The exterior follows the thatched hut form once common in the mountains of western China. Interior furniture and fittings are made of old wood, shaped on site by traditional craftsmanship. A three-dimensional layout follows the natural slope and links garden, terrace and indoor space, reducing dampness and improving daylight. The intent is a quiet stay close to nature and away from the city.
Hermit Huts Resort Hotel by Cheng Zhang has been featured as an innovative representation of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Hermit Huts Resort Hotel received the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2020. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, meritocratic, just and fair design accolade that recognizes outstanding design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
