Minimal Simplicity Residential Apartment

Minimal Simplicity

Minimal Simplicity is a residential apartment interior in Yilan City, Taiwan. The property measures 116 square meters. The living room and dining room are combined into one public space. Black, white and grey form the main color tones, and wood tones are added for warmth. A square dining table reduces unnecessary use of space and supports face-to-face conversation between family members. Iron elements are combined with wood for a strong visual effect. Diatomaceous earth is used to regulate humidity in the rainy local climate. A Japanese style room sits behind the dining room.

Minimal Simplicity Residential Apartment by Chien Hung Lu was featured as a creative example of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. Minimal Simplicity Residential Apartment earned the Iron A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2020. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design award that honors exceptional design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
