Langting Mansion
Yuzhou Langting Mansion is an exhibition center built in Qingdao, China. The design takes its inspiration from layered mountains, water and clouds. The roof follows the shape of rising and falling peaks and is clad in dark grey metal verge boards. The central part uses antique copper drawn aluminium squares to suggest multiple ranges of hills, set against a glass curtain wall. A mirror water pool connects the building with the site and completes the view. The planning follows the ritual order, the central axis and the courtyards of the ancient city of Jimo.
Langting Mansion Exhibition Center by Tengyuan Design was featured as a creative illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Award. Langting Mansion Exhibition Center received the Golden A' Design Award in Architecture, Building and Structure Design in 2020. The A' Architecture, Building and Structure Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design competition which rewards exceptional design of skyscrapers, museums, residential buildings, commercial complexes, educational institutions, religious structures, infrastructure designs, landscaping projects and more.
