Tranquility
Tranquility is a residential apartment interior design of 190 square meters in Taichung City, Taiwan. Earthy colors form the base tone of the layered materials, creating a calm atmosphere. A spacious public area serves as the core of the plan. A main beam divides the area, so the ceiling was shaped into rhythmic stacked layers to cover the beam and keep the height open. Titanium plated metal panels are inlaid in the side ceilings. A white stone main wall carries delicate carved patterns. An open kitchen adjoins the lounge, and a large French window lights the wooden dining area.
Tranquility Residential Apartment by Shun Ming Chang has been featured as an exceptional example of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Tranquility Residential Apartment was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2020. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design prize that rewards superior design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
