Mitu
Mitu is the packaging for a sonic electric toothbrush designed for children. The box is made of paper and contains no plastic. Cartoon elements and children illustrations cover the surfaces, so unpacking resembles the reading of a picture book. A pull-out drawer reveals a sequence of images that moves from tooth decay to dental plaque and finally to shiny teeth as the box slides open. After unpacking, the box can be kept as an illustrated book or a toy. The packaging protects the toothbrush and helps children build interest in brushing.
Mitu Sonic Electric Toothbrush by Xiaomi has been highlighted as an innovative representation of communication design by the A' Design Award. Mitu Sonic Electric Toothbrush won the Silver A' Design Award in Packaging Design in 2020. The A' Packaging Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design competition which honors excellent design of bottles, boxes, cans, pouches, tubes, cartons, wrappers, bags and more.
