Light Operator Precise Cell Sorting

Light Operator

Light Operator is a cell sorting instrument developed for biomedical laboratories. The instrument uses optoelectronic dielectrophoresis to sort cells without damage. High resolution imaging, real time algorithms and visual graphics support precise cell identification. A translucent flip top cover protects the internal optical and electronic parts and allows the sorting process to be observed. The surface is made of PB material with an electroplated silver gray finish, and the housing is machined by CNC with discreet screws. The instrument measures 780 by 597 by 536 millimeters.

Light Operator Precise Cell Sorting by Beihang University was selected as a creative example of service design by the A' Design Award. Light Operator Precise Cell Sorting won the Silver A' Design Award in Scientific Instruments and Research Equipment Design in 2025. The A' Scientific Instruments and Research Equipment Design Award is an international, meritocratic, just and fair design recognition program which recognizes superior design of microscopes, spectrometers, chromatographs, centrifuges, oscilloscopes, telescopes, mass spectrometers, particle accelerators and more.
