Orinigiri
Orinigiri is a food packaging design for Japanese rice balls. The name combines origami, the traditional art of paper folding, and onigiri, rice shaped by hand. The package is folded like origami, and the folded form is used to press and shape the rice. Users craft the paper, squeeze the rice and then eat the result. Each rice ball can take a unique shape. Origami is handed down from generation to generation, and onigiri carries the warmth of the hands that mold it. Orinigiri joins both traditions to share Japanese culture and playful communication at the table.
